Pleasant Valley Parent Teacher Association
Read-a-Thon is all about encouraging learning, imagination, and literacy. It is also our second and final PTA fundraiser of the year, with funds supporting classroom and school libraries. Kids read over 9 days (including a weekend) to reach a goal of 300 minutes. School-wide, our goal is 100,000 minutes!
What kind of reading counts? We count independent reading, being read to, audiobooks (along with the text), and graphic novels.

Fundraising opens through Cheddar Up
March 2nd [Monday] Read-a-Thon Begins!
Please read at home with your kids through this week and log their minutes using the Digital Tracking Link for Logging Minutes
March 8th [Sunday] Read-in at Happy Valley Library’s Community Room
Kids come to read, have popcorn, and listen to chill music
10-12 PM
March 9th [Monday] Fundraising ends at 11:59 PM
March 10th Final Day! Turn in paper trackers!
March 13th [Friday] Winners Announced

Volunteer Info
Hello, future volunteers! 👋 We'd love to have your help! To make sure all our students are safe, anyone who works directly with them (like helping in classrooms or chaperoning field trips) needs to have a current background check on file with the school office. These checks are good for two years.
To get or renew your background check, just fill out the form (available in the front office) and turn it in to the Front Office with a $5 processing fee. Since background checks can take time to process, please submit them early so you are ready when a volunteer shift becomes available. Should the fee pose a financial hardship, please inform the office, and the PTA will gladly cover the cost.
